Second, in the gameplay department, I believe Nioh 2 is a more complex game and once you understand how its systems work you will enjoy the combat much more than Code Vein. Let me summarize what you should remember from this article.įirst, when it comes to the story, Code Vein is a far better choice than Nioh 2. So when it comes to visuals overall Nioh 2 offers more because of the customization options. They have amazing character creation systems, but Nioh 2 has an advantage and that is the equipment transmogrification system it offers, meaning that you are able to change the appearance of any armor or weapon you have to the appearance of another weapon or armor you have gotten in the game and keep the item’s stats. One great thing about these two games is the customization they offer. I can’t say I prefer the scenery of one game over the other. I think both of them are equally good for what they are and it comes down to preference show I would recommend checking out gameplay and see what you prefer.Īs for the visuals, both games are dark and gritty so don’t expect beautiful locations. Code Vein goes for anime-like graphics while Nioh 2 has a more realistic graphics approach. The graphics of these two games have a different direction so it’s hard to compare them. Both games offer a co-op system, although in Nioh 2 you can play with up to 2 others, while in Code Vein you can play with only one other person. Lastly, Nioh 2 is more challenging than Code Vein, has more content, and more replayability. Nioh 2 also has skill trees for ninja, onmyo, and transformation skills, you have to also add the attribute system which is similar to Dark Souls, meaning that when you gather enough currency to level up you have to put a point in one of the available attributes.Ĭode Vein doesn’t have an attribute system like Nioh and Dark Souls, instead, it has a class system and each class has different skills you can unlock.īoth systems are good in their own way but if I had to choose which one I prefer, I would choose the system of Nioh 2 since it is far more complex and fun once you understand how it works.Īs for the enemies, both games offer a variety of enemies for you to fight and they also have entertaining bosses, though Nioh 2 has more bosses and they are a little more interesting to fight against. The combat system in Nioh 2 is so deep that it will take hours upon hours till you try every single weapon and its skills since you unlock weapon skills by using the weapon whose skills you want to unlock. There are differences in the way the players have to approach combat in these two games.Ĭode Vein’s combat is similar to Dark Souls games, while Nioh 2 offers a more complex combat system with different stances and skill trees for each weapon. So if you want an enjoyable story then I would pick Code Vein over Nioh 2. Nioh 2 also has some good moments but overall the story isn’t as interesting as the story of Code Vein.ĭon’t get me wrong, I am not saying Code Vein’s story is perfect, but I personally found it enjoyable and I would recommend it over the story of Nioh 2. When it comes to the storyline, Code Vein has a better and more cohesive story with more interesting characters that will make you care about what happens to them.
